The story
Synopsis
In 18th century Paris, a noblewoman's body is discovered drifting down the Seine, and her newly knighted younger brother is drawn into the mystery surrounding her death. As a string of unexplained disappearances grips the city, he enlists with the secret police to follow scant clues and question the powerful. Their investigation hints at a wider conspiracy…
